What Is a Retaining Wall
A retaining wall is a construction that retains or holds soil after it. There are different types of elements that can be used to create retaining walls like poured concrete, treated timbers, concrete blocks,, boulders or rocks. Some are easy to manage, others have a shorter or longer life span, but all can hold up the soil in your garden.
Build the Proper Type of Retaining Wall
Different questions must be in mind to build the proper kind of retaining wall. For example, is the soil clay, sand, or something is in the middle? What is above the wall like a driveway or something more large like a pool? Will the ground below or above the wall be sloped or level? What is the height of the retaining wall? All of these factors will determine whether you will need a Gravity Retaining Wall or a Geogrid Reinforced Retaining Wall.
